A Continental Airlines Boeing 737-800, registration N14231 performing flight CO-1761 from San Jose (Costa Rica) to Newark,NJ (USA), was on final approach to Newark’s runway 22L descending through approximately 1200 feet AGL, when the right hand engine ingested a Canada goose and flamed out repeatedly. The airplane continued for a safe landing.
