Birdstrike on approach to Thomas Cook B763 at Banjul

A Thomas Cook Airlines Boeing 767-300, registration G-TCCA performing flight MT-458K from Manchester,EN (UK) to Banjul (Gambia), struck a bird while on approach to Banjul. The crew continued for a safe landing.

The return flight had to be cancelled, the aircraft remained on the ground for repairs and returned to the UK on March 26th.

A Thomas Cook spokesperson said, “Thomas Cook Airlines flight TCX458K was involved in a minor incident on 23 March on approach to Banjul in The Gambia. The aircraft landed safely however it required inspection before it could be returned to service. The company can confirm there was no damage to the aeroplane and the aircraft was declared fully operational and has re-entered service. The outbound passengers returned to the UK on 25 March on an alternative aircraft.”
