Bird Strike top Eurofly A320 at Bologna on Mar 21st 2009

March 21, 2009

An Eurofly Airbus A320-200, registration I-EEZI performing flight GJ-7875 from Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt) to Bologna (Italy), suffered a bird strike while on approach to Bologna. The crew continued for a safe landing.

A post flight inspection revealed some minor damage to a landing flap forcing repairs.

The next leg of the aircraft from Bologna to Sharm El Sheikh (GJ-7874) had to be flown by a leased in Boeing 737-300 with some passengers being booked on other flights, as the Boeing 737-300 couldn’t carry all passengers booked on GJ-7874.
