A Tailwind Airlines Boeing 737-400 on behalf of Onur Air, registration TC-TLC performing flight 8Q-36 from Istanbul Ataturk to Diyarbakir (Turkey) with 159 passengers, was hit by a bird on one of the wings while on final approach to Diyarbakir. The crew decided to abort the approach and go around. The airplane landed safely in the second approach about 30 minutes later.

A replacement aircraft was dispatched to perform the return flight to Istanbul.
